The League of Women Voters Solano County cordially invites you to a special in-person event on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 3pm at the Solano Community College Theater in Fairfield, CA.

Keynote Speaker: California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., is a powerful voice for justice who has dedicated her career to defending and strengthening our most fundamental civil rights, including the right to vote.
 
A panel discussion led by youth leaders from throughout Solano County will share their perspectives, current efforts underway, and suggestions to increase their peers’ awareness, involvement, and civic engagement.

This annual interfaith breakfast invites faith leaders and lovers of justice to break bread together and enjoy an entertaining program designed to cultivate a community practice of growth, nurturing, and shared wisdom to continue our work for housing justice.

Where: Temple Beth Abraham, 327 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland, CA

Tickets are available at a rate of $30 for EBHO members and $45 for non-members and include a full meal.

From September of 2022 through April of 2023, the League of Women Voters of Piedmont together with Piedmont Connect presented a Climate Speaker Series that covered:

  • Wildfire Mitigation in the Bay Area
  • How Textiles Affect Climate Change
  • Sustainable Groundwater Management
  • Health Effects from Heat
  • EV Policy & Regulation, and
  • Renewable Energy.
 
With the effects of climate change making headlines globally, now is a good time to revisit the still relevant information each of our speakers provided.

The book club discussion is open to the public - you don't have to be a League member. We hope you'll join us!
