Town Hall with Asm. Buffy Wicks

This virtual town hall held May 5th, 2021 was a collaboration of the Leagues of Women Voters of Berkeley Albany Emeryville, Oakland, Piedmont, and West Contra Costa County. Assemblymember Buffy Wicks represents State Assembly District 15, which encompasses Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Piedmont and parts of Oakland in Alameda County and El Cerrito, Hercules, Pinole, Richmond, San Pablo, El Sobrante and Kensington in Contra Costa County.

Asm. Wicks joined the League on Zoom and discussed the state budget landscape including COVID recovery, and her 2021 legislative package. Her legislative package covers working families, housing and tenant protections, consumer protections, criminal justice, healthcare transparency, and childcare. She fielded League moderated questions on topics including housing shortages, climate change and wildfires, consumer protection, education funding, single payer health care, criminal justice, and gun violence prevention.

A recording of the Town Hall is available on the LWVP YouTube channel. We hope that you can take the time to watch and forward to others who may be interested!
