LWVP Open Volunteer Positions


We have a number of open volunteer positions both on our board and supporting our board. There is a brief description of each below or you can email us for additional information or to answer any questions you have. Or join us at one of our coffee hours, cocktail hours or board meetings to see us in action or learn more about us.

Voting Board - Open Positions


VP of Administration

The VP of Administration performs duties as the president and the board shall direct. Historically, this includes shadowing the President and filling in at meetings and events if the President is unable to attend. The VP of Administration is then well prepared to assume the duties of the President when the President's term is complete.

Communications Director

The Communications Director is responsible for preparing and sending out our Voter newsletter on the first and 15th of each month. Content is gathered from our League members and other local Leagues and community organizations. The Voter is sent out via email using the ClubExpress emailing platform.

Publicity Director

The Publicity Director is responsible for writing press releases and distributing them to our list of local news outlets. The press releases cover upcoming events, recaps of recent events, and other public relations information we want to disseminate to the community.

Board Support - Open Positions


Nominating Committee, chair

The Nominating Committee chair is responsible for engaging our members and the community in order to fill open volunteer slots and present a Slate to the Board each spring prior to our Annual Membership meeting.

The Nominating Committee member assists the chair in engaging our members and the community in order to fill open volunteer slots and present a Slate to the Board each spring prior to our Annual Membership meeting.

Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager keeps our social media accounts up to date with timely posts and event information. Content is gathered from LWV of California, LWVUS, other local Leagues and other LWVP board members.

Great Decisions Leader

The Great Decisions Leader coordinates and leads an 8-week Great Decisions discussion group for our community. This job can be shared.
