Diversity Film Series "Out in America". "Out In America" is a collection of unique, transformative stories and inspiring personal narratives told through the lens of the country's most prominent LGBT figures and pioneers, as well as many average, yet extraordinary,citizens from Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender communities.After the film, the Queer-Straight Alliance at Piedmont High School will discuss challenges for young people who are out or not yet out in America.

Piedmont Connect's Green Transportation group will be hosting an "Energizer Station" in the Ace Hardware parking lot (1221 Grand Ave., Piedmont) from 6-9 a.m. If you are biking or walking to work or school that day, stop by for some refreshments, a goody bag, and moral support! Assemblymember Nancy Skinner will be our guest speaker. Nancy currently chairs the Assembly Rules Committee and formerly served as chair of the Assembly's Natural Resources Committee. She is author of the gun safety bill, AB 48, which will require ammunition buyers to show identification, sellers to be licensed and to report their sales to the Department of Justice. The bill, which has passed the Assembly Public Safety Committee, also makes it illegal for gun owners to buy parts that turn their guns into assault-style weapons.
